An enigmatic smoking pipe from a mystery culture, or perhaps this is a hybrid from two different places altogether (South Himalayan?). It measures 12.5" in length and has a wonderful burlwood bowl with inlaid eyes, great detailed carving on the wood stem and a metal joint between the two. It comes apart with a twist and smells of a faintly sweet tobacco. Any guesses are welcome and encouraged. Early to mid-20th century. #2041 $1300 |
