This intense bearded puppet is from China. Elaborately robed, he wears a very stern expression and high platform boots. There is a peg behind each ear that may have anchored a hat of some sort, and his fists contain holes where string would have been tied, remnants of which remain in his left hand. He appears to be carved of wood and measures 12.5” high. Early to mid-20th century.  #2664  $350
