This is a stone ceremonial axe-head from Irian Jaya, Indonesia. These were used as bride price/currency and sometimes adorned with braided orchid fiber. This one also has traces of red pigment and measures 18” in height. It is mounted on a custom brass stand. Early 20th century. #2610  $1400
