A rare and unusual rattle from the Kukukuku region that borders Morobe Province, Eastern Highlands and Gulf Province, a seldom-visited and very remote area. Made from a bird skull shrouded in cotton bandages and coated with mud, it holds a few stones that rattle when shaken. Early to mid-20th century. #2293  SOLD
