This wonderful millstone of volcanic rock is attributed to the South
Seas area. The repeating furrows or grooves form separate areas called
harps – typical millstones have 6, 8 or 10 harps – this one has ten.
There is an 1” edge on the front surface around the perimeter that has
been ground down from use. Please see the back view below. There are
traces of rust from contact with iron. It measures 11” in diameter and
is 2.5” thick, comes with a custom Lucite base and weighs 15 pounds.
From an old California collection. #7208 $1900
